About This Position

SUMMARY:
Works under supervisor’s instructions to perform routine duties safely and as assigned to maintain company landscaping and parking lots.  Duties include, but not limited to, the Essential Functions listed below.  Assist other maintenance personnel as required.  Follow all shop and safety rules.

EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE:
High School degree or equivalent preferred but not required.

WORK EXPERIENCE:
Prior Landscaping or lawn care experience preferred. Prior maintenance experience preferred but not required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Operation of commercial riding mowers, weed eaters, leaf blowers, chain saws and other lawn care equipment
• Operation of rakes, shovels and other long-handled lawn and garden tools
• Operation of hand tools and motorized equipment for parking lot and sidewalk snow removal
• Assisting with relocation of office furniture and business records
• Able to possess and use general hand tools (screwdriver, wrenches, etc)
• Able to complete preventive maintenance checks and general work orders as assigned
• General sanitation duties
• Assisting Maintenance General Utility staff 
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS AND/OR KNOWLEDGE UPON QUALIFICATION IN POSITION:

• Reading skills
• Basic math skills
• Valid driver’s license
• PPE
• Able to use general tools and equipment for lawn care and parking lot maintenance
• Practices Safety, Health, and Environmental Protection

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Repetitive hand/arm movement
• Pushing pulling
• Bending/stooping
• Lifting up to 35lbs
• Standing for long periods of time
• Sitting for long periods of time
• Regular exposure to extreme outside weather conditions
