About This Position

This is a 2-part position consisting of Drafting work part of the time and Engineer in training the rest of the time.

Drafting:  Produce, maintain, check, and control Orscheln Tool Drawings including 3-D models, assembly prints, and detail prints. Work with Mfg Eng to develop and design tooling and provide detailed prints as needed. Keep track of Tool revisions on drawings and keep latest tool drawings in View only folder. Produce drawing per drafting standards.

Engineer in Training:  Work in production area assigned to learn processes and work with Mfg Eng of that area learning requirements of Mfg Eng position. The goal would be to prepare to become a backup for Mfg Eng in that area.

Preferred Educational Experience:
Two-year technical associate degree emphasizing mechanical drawing and computer aided design desired with demonstrated ability within the CAD system or BSME, Industrial Technology degree, or 60 hours plus completed towards Engineering or Industrial Technology degree or closely related field. With CAD (3D modeling) and Drafting training. Welding and Tool and Die training would be a plus. Other consideration would be previous experience with CAD in a related field.

Preferred Work Experience:
Recent College Graduate or at least 2 years of college Education credits and/or applicable work experience will also be considered.

Essential Functions:

  • Drafting Produce, maintain, check, and control Orscheln Tool Drawing including 3-d models, Assembly prints, and detail prints.
  • Create and maintain Tool Numbers in IFS
  • Maintains CAD, hard copy and view only print information.
  • Capable of working with minimal supervision
  • Work independently and in cooperation with various personnel.
  • Capable of directing prioritizing and managing multiple jobs
  • Work in production area assigned and learn how to run all processes becoming the expert in these areas.
  • Follow production supervisors’ instructions while working in the production area.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and make safety the priority for yourself and others.
  • Support a Manufacturing Engineer as assigned to develop knowledge to support the daily responsibilities related to that area.
  • Execute typical administrative procedures (stock requisitions, tool sheets, expense reports).
  • Perform all other tasks and “special assignments” as assigned.
  • Exercise communication skills daily with various personnel internally and externally.

Non-Essential Functions:

  • Ability to handle multiple job assignments as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
