Community Lanes, Inc.

Community Lanes, an affiliate of Orscheln Industries, is a 16-lane recreational and entertainment center located in a high-traffic area in Moberly, Missouri.  The Center provides a quality bowling environment and exceptional customer service for both league and recreational bowlers.

Community Lanes was opened in the late 50s just at the beginning of the bowling craze.  During the next decade, the sport gained even more popularity after Brunswick Corporation introduced automatic pinsetters to the market.  During the 80s and 90s, interest in the sport declined for various reasons.  However, the Olympics in Atlanta proved that the sport is very much alive.  A new state-of-the-art bowling center built in the Olympic village entertained standing-room only crowds day and night during the two-week festival.

The Center has a reputation for being a premier facility for state tournaments. With the following past events having been held at the Center:

• 7 state senior tournaments
• numerous statewide men's tournaments
• 2 team USA tournaments
• Special Olympics

The Center offers open-play bowling during daytime hours and on weekends.  Late Friday and Saturday nights are also designated as open-play bowling.  Throughout the year, special promotions to attract after-hours customers are scheduled.

A new scoring system has been installed in hopes of attracting more tournaments and creating a friendly environment for the less experienced bowlers.  Additional bumpers which keep the ball in play at all times will promote pre-school leagues and family recreational bowling.

Community Lanes is very conscious of giving something back to the community as a result of the successes we have enjoyed over the years.  We do this by regularly donating lane space and free games to worthy organizations such as Special Olympics, Big Brothers and Big Sisters.

• Community Lanes houses a large game room including four eight-ball tables and two snooker tables, the latest high-tech video and pinball games.
• State lottery pull-tab machines.
• A full-service snack bar offering freshly-prepared fast foods, snacks, beverages, bottle and draft beer, mixed drinks and wine coolers.
• Our pro shop contains ample inventory to accommodate the needs of the beginning and more experienced bowler.
• Other services such as bowling lessons, league record keeping, and a nursery during mixed league hours are available. .
