Position: General Manager of Orscheln Operations
Summary:

Has the authority to direct and coordinate broad manufacturing activities toward achieving the corporate objectives in accordance with established policies. Responsible for the effective operation of all manufacturing facilities in conjunction with the goals as set by Corporate. Provides counsel and assistance to other Managers and to Operations concerning their overall growth, operating policies and profit objectives.

Education:

B.S. and/or 10 years experience in plant management.

Work Experience:

15 years experience in plant management.

Responsibilities:
  • Assesses present and future needs, trends, problems and profit opportunities for the company.
  • Organize and promotes, in development of business plan and operating policies for company.
  • Within the company's overall plans and policies, establishes short and long-term operating and financial objectives.
  • Makes certain that necessary staff advice, counsel and assistance are provided to the facility.
  • Ensures that approved policies and objectives are clearly understood and effectively applied, by reviewing operating plans, programs, and capital and expense budgets submitted by Managers.
  • Review and appraises the results of the activities within the company. Takes or ensures appropriate remedial action as necessary.
  • Reviews and evaluates contracts, appropriations and expenditure requests submitted by management; approves those with authority, submits those beyond authority to President of Manufacturing along with recommendations.
  • Ensures that policy guidance is established for company representatives and is consistent with all other divisions of Orscheln.
  • Develops and trains executive personnel within company and reviews and appraises their performance. Recommends or approves compensation changes for key personnel within assigned departments in accordance with company policy. Ensures that the organizational structure is efficiently planned and adequately and competently staffed.
  • Supervises and directs staff functions such as personnel, public and stockholder relations, purchasing, operations, engineering, quality assurance, design and development, systems, marketing and financial.
  • Supervises the investigation of opportunities through acquisition, and merger of existing plant facilities or building of new facilities including the overall evaluation of the utilization of physical properties.
  • Directs the development programs and methods for establishment of standards of performance and the evaluation of performance against these standards for the purpose of aiding operations in attaining their own objectives.
  • Assists the President of Manufacturing in preparing short and long-range plans. Establishes a budget of operations and ensures that budgeted goals are achieved and cost objectives are met.
  • Obtains and evaluates general and specific business conditions, and keeps the President of Manufacturing advised on such matters.
  • Maintains close personal relationship with officers of important customers, prospective customers and suppliers. Promotes satisfactory relations with industry and trade groups, press and public.
  • Assumes the duties of the President of Manufacturing in the event of his/her absence or disability.
  • Responsible for adhering to and/or enforcing all Orscheln operating policies and practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer and/or the President of Manufacturing.

Position: Production Supervisor
Summary:

Directs the operation of production department activities, and monitors capacity of and assures safe and cost effective utilization of equipment and labor.

Education:

High School degree or equivalent preferred

Work Experience:

Five (5) years experience operating screw machines. Three (3) years leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Determine feasibility of manufacturing schedule and make adjustments when necessary. Coordinates with Maintenance, operators/operator set-ups on execution of maintenance schedule for plant equipment.
  • Directs work of direct and indirect personnel as necessary to meet production and shipping schedules.
  • Coordinates with Training & Development and Risk Management to assure that all required safety, health and environmental training is given to employees on a timely basis.
  • Direct and coordinates activities so those products are manufactured on schedule and within quality standards and cost objectives.
  • Monitors employee performance and quality and provides regular feedback to each employee.
  • Monitors expenses to insure they are in line with the budget.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY:

Manufacture product in a manner which produces a cost effective, quality product, safely and on time. Participate in team operations with corporate policy guidelines.

  • Remove, sharpen and/or replace tooling in machines as required

Position: Staff Accountant
SUMMARY:

Prepares income statement, balance sheet, and various other accounting statements and reports; prepares general ledger journal entries; reconciles balance sheet accounts; compiles information for auditors. Responsible for adding, deleting, and transferring assets on the fixed asset ledger. Assists the clerks in the department as needed.

EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or equivalent.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

One (1) to two (2) years general accounting experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Performs analysis of financial results.
  • Prepares general ledger journal entries in order to prepare the monthly financial statements.
  • Maintains project log and sets up new projects in all necessary systems. Responsible for accounting for projects including capital, expense, and cost of sales projects.
  • Responsible for maintaining fixed asset ledger which includes adding, removing, and transferring assets, as well as preparing depreciation entry and audit schedules.
  • Responsible for balancing checking accounts at month end.
  • Invoices miscellaneous charges to affiliate companies.
  • Prepares audit schedules on a monthly basis for audit purposes.
  • Prepares invoices and supporting documentation for plating operation.
  • Assists the clerks in the department as needed.
  • Completes sales tax returns and informational reports for governmental agencies.
  • Distributes financial statements and other reports or communications.
  • Assists the cost accountant in maintaining cost files.
  • Responsible for maintaining sales commission program, which includes analysis, data entry, and reporting.
  • Other projects as assigned.

Position: Manufacturing Engineer
SUMMARY:

Coordinate design, development, quoting, specifications, drawings, vendor activity, installation, and support of equipment and processes for manufacture of Orscheln products. Autonomy of activity is a function of experience, demonstrated ability and grade level.

EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE:

BSME, BSIE or two (2) year technical degree.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Minimum three (3) years work experience in engineering support field.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Develop tooling, capital equipment, gauge and fixturing requirements for new products.
  • Assist and review manufacturing routings.
  • Execute typical administrative procedures (i.e.: stock requisitions, RFQ's, ECR's, ECN's).
  • Evaluate process loading and rates.
  • Define process capability through measurement, verification, process studies, documentation and statistical methods.
  • Support continuous improvement team activities.
  • Manage the areas of Orscheln business as assigned.

SUMMARY:

EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE:

B.S. degree in Business or equivalent business experience preferred.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

1 - 2 years of customer service and or inside sales experience and/or 3-5 years sales experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Calls on prospective and current customers to sell current and new products.

Position: Graphics Coordinator
Position Responsibilities:
  • Lay out sale flyers, catalogs, brochures and other advertising materials as assigned.
  • Gather text and photos for flyers and other print jobs.
  • Contact vendors/buyers for missing art and product information.
  • Take product photos when not available from vendor.
  • Assure that all art is print ready, outline, scan, clean up etc.
  • Produce and send newspaper/publication ads.
  • Assist with summer photo shoot.
  • Work with outside printing vendors.

Required Qualifications:
  • Skilled in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator.
  • Basic Photography skills
