Summary:

Desired Skills and Experience:

Position: District Manager - Located in Western Kansas
Summary:

Manages the Operational function from facilities to financials for the Orscheln Farm & Home stores in assigned area. Responsible for hiring, training and development of all levels of store employment. Responsible for Sales budget, Controllable Expenses, Gross Margin, Management Index, and Inventory Control. Coordinate the delivery of the Quality, Service, and Convenience pledge. Coordinate the delivery of the Orscheln Trademark Customer Service Program. Maintain strong communication between Operations and all departments to insure that Orscheln Farm & Home is the Customers first choice. Excellent multi-tasking skills and outstanding follow-up skills needed. Daily travel to store locations, with some overnights required. Reports to the Director of Operations. Multi-unit retail management experience preferred.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the assigned stores in the performance of all corporate operations to maximize sales, gross margin and management index.
  • Responsible for sales, gross margin, management index, expense, inventory control and loss prevention.
  • Supervise and train Store Managers.
  • Involved in the hiring/promotional practices for the Associate Store Manager training program.
  • Coordinate employee development to provide a natural progression of a qualified management staff for Stores.
  • Supervise the Orscheln Trademark Customer Service plan.
  • Maintain a program of store standards for image, labor management and facilities maintenance.

Educational Experience:

BSME, BSIE or two (2) year technical degree.

Work Experience:

Minimum three (3) years work experience in engineering support field.

Essential Functions:
  • Develop tooling, capital equipment, gauge and fixturing requirements for new products
  • Develop manufacturing routings
  • Execute typical administrative procedures (i.e.: stock requisitions, RFQ's, ECR's, ECN's)
  • Review production capacity

Opening at the Orscheln Farm and Home Distribution Center located in Abilene, Kansas. Training provided upon hire in Moberly, MO.

Responsible for supporting Retail Support Center operations by managing the Maintenance department which includes inside and outside the facility. Will support the operation by maintaining the facility, all conveyer and lift equipment through the PM program. Must possess strong electrical and forklift repair experience.

  • Manage Maintenance Technicians, Mechanics, Specialists, and Laborers
  • Maintain the monthly PM schedule for all equipment
  • Approve and order repair parts for all equipment
  • Manage major internal and external facility projects
  • Manage the cardboard, plastic and store cardboard recycle program and trash disposal
  • Maintain replacement schedule for equipment
  • Track and present quarterly updates for equipment cost
  • Conduct monthly drain test
  • Coordinate annual fire pump flow testing
  • Prepare and submit CapEx plan and requests for approval with competitive quote as needed

Position: Quality Engineer
Summary:

Plans and directs activities concerned with the development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for processes, materials, and products. Assists Quality personnel with daily quality requirements for production and provides support to other departments as required on quality issues.

Educational Experience:

College degree, equivalent ASQ Certification or equivalent work experience.

Work Experience:

Minimum of six (6) years experience in quality and manufacturing. Auditing experience preferred.

Essential Functions:
  • Develop and implement methods and standards of inspection, testing, and evaluation to meet customer requirements.
  • Establish and maintain programs to evaluate the precision and accuracy of production, measuring, and test equipment (gage calibration).
  • Assist Purchasing in the development of a qualified vendor base and work with them to resolve quality issues.
  • Devise sampling procedures and related forms / instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
  • Assist the production teams on issues related to corrective and preventive actions.
  • Works closely with other departments to create liaison and channel information exchange. Job requirements are flexible and individual must be able to adapt to changing conditions.
  • Participate on new product development teams to ensure a smooth transition of new products to the manufacturing floor and completion of all quality documentation.
  • Organize and implement quality audits, including resolution of non-conformances.
  • Develop and implement methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material.
  • Provide assistance with customer quotations by evaluating quality specifications.
  • Support Sales through customer visits on product quality issues required.
  • Assist Purchasing in the development of a qualified vendor base and work with them to resolve quality issues.
  • Supervise Quality personnel as required by Quality Manager.
  • Prefer a working knowledge of Automotive Core tools.

Communicate within the assembly team to provide needed information for the manufacture of product. Perform assigned or required tasks to assure product is correct and on time.
